OUR STORY

Kochis Fitz began in 1991 as a continuation of the unbroken wealth management careers of Tim Kochis, Linda Fitz, and others going back initially to 1973. With very extensive experience, encompassing thousands of clients throughout the United States for more than 30 years, Kochis Fitz professionals, as a stable team, have devoted their careers to helping clients achieve their goals.

Achievement has also been a hallmark of Kochis Fitz in its long and rich history of advancing the wealth management profession in the US and around the world:

• Founded and staffed the University of California Personal Financial Planning education program (beginning in 1980)
• Co-created the comprehensive Certified Financial Planning examination (1991)
• Led the CFP Board of Standards (Board participation 1985-1996; President 1995)
• Led the profession’s charitable arm, the Foundation for Financial Planning (Board participation since 2000; Chair 2004)
• Led the international CFP certification authority, the Financial Planning Standards Board (Board participation 2003-2005; Chair 2005)
• And, currently, leads the professional association, the Financial Planning Association (Board of Directors 2004 - 2007) and
• Chairs the International Advisory Panel for the Financial Planning Standards Council of China
